Glen Robert Preece, born in Sydney in 1957, is an esteemed Australian painter. Preece pursued formal art education at Seaforth Technical College from 1974 to 1977, followed by studies at the Julian Ashton Art School between 1977 and 1978. He began painting at the age of ten and achieved early recognition by selling his first three paintings in a Sydney exhibition. Initially, his traditional approach faced criticism from tutors; however, his talent was soon acknowledged by the late John Brackenreg, a significant figure in Australian fine art. Brackenreg organized a solo exhibition for Preece, which notably sold out on its opening night.
